Cyberbullying is any form of harassment to another person via the Internet. Cyberbullying can cause detrimental effects on a person. It could make someone go into a deep crippling depression or even have suicidal thought and actions. Cyberbullying is also a federal crime that could put you in jail for up to 10 years. If you or someone you know is experiencing Cyberbullying, tell a trusted adult immediately. If you don't, then it will only escalate more and will get worse and worse. My experience with Cyberbulling goes something like this. In the 6th grade there was this girl who was socially awkward and didn't really have any people to call friend. One day she decided to create an instagram profile. Soon, the 7th and 8th graders in no time found it and decided to post some nasty comments on the pictures she had and slide up in her DM's and tell her to "kys" or "leave the school cause no one likes you here". She told the teachers and the teachers did nothing about it. She then went to her parents and told them that she was being cyber bullied and the teachers were doing nothing about it. Her parents ended up taking her out of the school in the middle of the year and put her in a public middle school. I believe that people cyber bully other people online because it makes the feel good about themselves. It could also make the feel "tough" or "the big guy".

Sexting
You know when an online situation is risky or inappropriate when if it long distance the person does not want to video chat or when the other person sends sexually explicit messages or pictures to you. If someone is making you feel uncomfortable online, say something to a trusted adult and block them on all social media accounts. Sexting is any sexually explicit messages or photos sent to anyone to the age of 16, 17,18, or 19 and is a federal offence in many states. Some of the emotional consequences of sexting is crippling depression and embarrassment. Some of the physical consequences of sexting is getting arrested and you might have to file as a sex offender.
